Meanwhile, Harlan Elementary School was honored to host a Digital Literacy Event in partnership with Delaware State University and Capital One!
As part of the event, Dr. Tony Allen, President of Delaware State University and Mr. Joe Westcott, Market President of Capital One, alongside dozens of volunteers, read to Harlan Elementary students.
The books that were read were written and created by three local writers as part of a digital reading program and grant spearheaded by Capital One and Delaware State University.
After the book reading sessions, a small reception was held with Harlan Elementary School’s young student leaders to celebrate the importance of literacy and education and to shine a light on the bright future ahead.
