Dear BSD Families,
I’m sharing this message to ensure our families are aware of a pattern that has emerged across our state and even throughout the country. Beginning this morning, several schools and districts in the state received threatening phone calls warning of safety concerns at particular school buildings. Delaware State Police and all local law enforcement agencies throughout the state are actively investigating. So far, no safety concerns have been identified. As of this moment, Brandywine School District has not received any threatening phone calls. Our school leaders throughout the district are aware of what’s happening throughout the state and are prepared to respond if needed.
Should a threatening phone call be received by any of our schools, we will follow all established safety protocols. At that time, we will alert our families and staff members and explain the protocols that will be put in place at that particular building.
I want to thank our state and local law enforcement agencies for the work that they are doing statewide to investigate these calls. We appreciate your patience and understanding throughout this time. The safety and security of our students is always our top priority.
If there are any changes throughout the day, we will be sure to communicate directly with our families and staff members.
Respectfully,
Lincoln Hohler
Superintendent
