Welcome To Bush

Meeting the Academic and Social Needs of Preschool Children

  • Bush Early Education Center serves three and four year-old students in half day programs.  Using the Big Day for PreK curriculum, we provide opportunities for all students to learn through daily involvement in a variety of hands-on, participatory activities.  The five principles of Big Day for PreK are social-emotional development, language development, integrated learning, responsive instruction, and partnership with families.

Children are taught by highly qualified specialists who use a developmentally appropriate curriculum to accommodate the differences in students' skills and experiences.  Our classrooms integrate children with special needs with those not requiring special services, with all children benefiting from the many unique opportunities this offers. The curriculum focuses on building each child's development in sound/symbol recognition, listening, speaking, responding, and pre-writing. Hands-on activities in math, science, and social studies encourage cooperation, problem-solving, and awareness of the world. Small class sizes and low teacher/child ratios provide individualized attention. Speech and language therapists provide support for special needs students in collaboration with classroom teachers.
