Meet the Principal

Welcome to Mount Pleasant High School!

 

As the Principal, I welcome our students and families to Mount Pleasant.  The home of the Green Knights has been ranked among the top 10 Comprehensive High Schools in the state of Delaware by USA News since 2018, capturing the #1 rank in 2019 and 2021. We are proud of this distinguished honor and we look forward to continuing to uphold this standard.

 

Mount offers an excellent education where diversity of learning styles is honored and where individual differences are respected. Helping students take risks in a safe and nurturing environment promotes a positive growth mindset. Our students will engage in learning critical thinking skills, collaboration, teamwork, and self-discipline as they take ownership of their learning. These skills go hand in hand with a well-rounded instructional staff. Our teachers will continue to provide students with opportunities to cultivate their individuality while developing their content knowledge in the classroom. All of this will be accomplished by the partnership and collaboration of students, parents, and staff. 

 

My administrative team consists of Mr. Tiff McCullough, Mr. John Norton, and Ms. Evanthia Filiou, Assistant Principals, and Mr. Brian Hines, Nigdra Calloway, and Uchechi Amudipe, Dean of Students. Together we strive to uphold the highest standards of educating our students and instill our mantra, "We A.R.E. Mount." Students here are "Accountable, Respectful, and Engaged." We welcome you to our Mount Family and we look forward to working alongside you over the next four years.
