Meet the Principal
Ms. Lavina Jones-Davis, Ms. Dee
I am the PROUD, PROUD Principal of Lancashire Elementary, home of Leo the Lion. Leo is our mascot who roars Pride throughout our building. Once you are a Lancashire Lion, you are always a Lancashire Lion. Lancashire is a family orientated school, where cultural and language diversity is represented throughout our student population.
I began my career as a Corporate Recruiter, and Employee Training Manager with a major transportation organization. I decided to change careers because I had a profound passion to educate children. After earning my Master’s Degree, and Reading Certification in Pennsylvania, I began my teaching career. My first position was a kindergarten teacher in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 2004, I started working for the Brandywine School District. I worked at Claymont Elementary School as a 5th grade teacher, of English Learners. In 2006 while teaching at Claymont, I was voted Teacher of the Year. I also received awards for Bridging and Building Relationships with Families, and the Claymont Community. Later, I worked at Carrcroft Elementary as the Dean of Students. Lancashire has been my school home since 2009. I have served as the Assistant Principal, and now Principal.
My goal as a building leader is to ensure that every student, receives a quality education and learns the necessary skills to become a positive and productive citizen in society. Lancashire is very fortunate to have a committed staff, who are devoted to caring and educating every student. It truly takes a village In order for our students to be successful. In addition to my work as a principal, I am a wife, mother of three, and grandmother to two beautiful girls.
You are welcome to visit Lancashire and experience the positive culture and family atmosphere.
